Congress, the White House, public health agencies and a number of state legislatures have taken important initial steps to #StopOpioidOverdose, but there is still more to do. Last week the House passed 18 bills. In March, a wide-ranging bill was passed by the full Senate and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) approved additional important legislation, which is pending before the full Senate. Addiction Recovery Resources, Inc. joined the @Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose to help ensure that comprehensive legislation is passed and is funded appropriately. April 13, 2016 – Addiction Recovery Resources, Inc. was one of several sponsors for the 19th Annual CADA Awards Luncheon today held at Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel Vieux Care’ Ballroom. The Luncheon is held in recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month and dedicated to community individuals who work to help prevent and treat substance abuse in the Greater New Orleans Area. “CADA is a non-profit community health agency serving the Greater New Orleans area since 1960 with its mission of preventing the abuse of alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances and promoting healthy and safe individuals, families and communities. CADA currently serves over 7,000 individuals per year with assessments, information and referral services.
