April 13, 2016 – Addiction Recovery Resources, Inc. was one of several sponsors for the 19th Annual CADA Awards Luncheon today held at Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel Vieux Care’ Ballroom. The Luncheon is held in recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month and dedicated to community individuals who work to help prevent and treat substance abuse in the Greater New Orleans Area.
“CADA is a non-profit community health agency serving the Greater New Orleans area since 1960 with its mission of preventing the abuse of alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances and promoting healthy and safe individuals, families and communities. CADA currently serves over 7,000 individuals per year with assessments, information and referral services.
CADA’s impact in the community is made possible by strong partnerships and collaboration with community leaders, fellow non-profit agencies, law enforcement and city government, and collective impact organizations. CADA is a proud member of the New Orleans Kids Partnership (NOKP), the Greater New Orleans Drug Demand Reduction Coalition, and the New Orleans Inter-Agency Behavioral Health Council. CADA is also the local affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) and the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA)”.Addiction Recovery Resources, Inc. have been providing addiction services to patients in the Greater New Orleans area for more than 25 years. Their Mission is to provide professional, effective, and ethical treatment to individuals and families effected by addictive disorders and to bring the treatment of addiction into the mainstream of health care. Residential treatment and outpatient treatment services are available to families suffering from addiction in the Greater New Orleans area. Residential treatment programs have clients under twenty-four-hour care versus outpatient programs where a client can live at home or in a sober living.
Today was an exciting day for the Addiction Recovery Resources Team.
Our very own Residential Treatment Program Director, Steve Kessler, MHS, LPC, LAC, CRC was honored with an Excellence in Treatment Award. “The Excellence in Treatment Award recognized an individual that has made a significant contribution to the field of substance abuse treatment in New Orleans; and who has made a difference in the lives of New Orleanais in need of treatment services”. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award. Steve has worked with ARR for the past thirteen years helping addicts find hope and get into active recovery.Addiction Recovery Resources Intensive Outpatient Program Director, Sharon Normand, LPC, NCC, LPC observed one of her very own graduates and current Continuing Care Patient share his testimonial as part of CADA’s programming.
ARR’s Chief Executive Officer Roy Viger, CPA and Toni Bonvillian, Community Liaison were winners of CADA’s door prizes which included two tickets to the New Orleans National World War II Museum and an official New Orleans Saints Jersey.
